Rules of Obama Power War

Ridicule rains down on The Left
Thomas Lifson of the American Thinker is noticing a growing trend within conservative ranks – the embracing of Alinsyite tactics in dealing with the Socialist left. Some of us have been doing it for awhile – it’s hard to pinpoint exactly when, but I know I personally, have had no problem using ridicule as a potent weapon against ridiculous lefties. It’s especially gratifying when used against thin skinned narcissists – (not mentioning any names.)

Following Alinsky’s rules would seem counter-intuitive for people with moral scruples – Saul Alinsky was an evil man with evil intent. Conservatives have no interest in accumulating “Power — not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have”, for instance. Yet power is the main motivator for the left. Democrats don’t care a whit about the fiscal cliff - they may pretend that they do, but tax increases on millions of Americans and the weakening of the nation’s defenses are desirable outcomes to the Alinsky left that drives today’s Democrat party.

O-Progs Termed Intolerant, Coercive

How The Left destroys American fundamentals
Born in Brooklyn, Frank Santarpia, co-founder of the Staten Island Tea Party, is a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School and Fordham University where he received a B.A. in Communications. A truck driver for 10 years, Frank would later become an entrepreneur who started several successful businesses. Recently, Frank sat down for an interview to talk about his experiences.

Ilya Galek: A great deal has been written about the Tea Party movement in America – some of it correct, much of it lies and smears. What can you tell us about the movement from the perspective of an insider?

Frank Santarpia: I believe that the rise of tea party groups throughout the country was a spontaneous – and disconnected – reaction to the frightening growth of the federal government. This fuse was lit under Bush, as we all know, but it was the policies proposed by Barack Obama, and finally the mortgage bailout scheme, that really caused the explosion.

Conservatives had been quietly seething for years – certainly after we realized that Bush was far from the fiscal hawk we thought or hoped he would be. The nomination of a moderate, reach-across-the-aisle guy like McCain was another kick in the pants to conservatives, and eventually the initiatives of the Obama administration became unbearable. His policies were like a modern-day version of the Intolerable Acts. Finally, when the mortgage bailout scheme precipitated the Santelli rant in March of 2009, people like me – people who had never been involved with politics before – got off our butts and got involved.

I guess it was the timing, though, that led to the number one smear. Because critical mass was reached, and public demonstrations began, after President Obama took office, the movement was immediately labeled racist. Of course, the lead perpetrators of that smear knew it not to be true, but the low-information progressives who followed them could not fathom a conservative movement that wasn’t purely white, mostly Southern, fundamentally Christian, anti-gay, anti-minority, xenophobic and, of course, unintelligent. It was what they were being spoon-fed for years, and the mainstream media wouldn’t disabuse them of their misconceptions; it was what they wanted to believe, too. In fact, they bent over backwards looking for overtly racist signs or banners at tea party rallies, and when they couldn’t find any of those they tried to latch onto secretive “code words,” which, of course, didn’t exist either.

Congressman Robert Andrews (D – NJ) told reporters he believes Speaker of the House John Boehner (R – OH) cannot do his job with fiscal cliff negotiations because the tea party is a “problem” for the Republican leader.

“There’s the tea party. I think it’s an aberrant strain of the Republican Party that knows what it doesn’t like; knows what it’s angry about, but doesn’t know what it wants to do,” said Andrews.

“I think [Boehner will] survive on January 3rd, sure, but on four occasions the country’s been—in these two years—the country’s been brought to the brink of real economic harm, because a small group on their side doesn’t want anything,” Andrews added.

Congressman Pat Tiberi (R – OH) shot back at Andrews remarks saying that the tea party is not giving Boehner “anymore problems than moveon.org or code pink is giving Ms. Pelosi.”

On Wednesday, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor denied the companies' request for an injunction while their lawsuit is pending, saying the stores failed to satisfy the demanding legal standard for blocking the requirement on an emergency basis. She said the companies may still challenge the regulations in the lower courts. (from ap.org)

The Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that Hobby Lobby’s owners, the David Green Family, must pay the ObamaCare fine of $1.3 Million PER DAY, beginning January 1, 2013 if they refuse to provide the Morning After Pill (Plan B in the U.S.) and The Abortion Pill (RU-486 in Europe and Mifeprex in the U.S.). Both are considered “abortifacients.” The Green Family provides insurance to eligible employees and will meet all requirements of ObamaCare, with the exception of providing abortifacients. Hard-Prog Rules Scrutinized

Sub Saul Alinsky for Marquis of Queensberry
In my new book, Fanning the Flames: How Saul Alinsky Taught the Radical Left to Use Ridicule, Slander and Intimidation to Silence Conservatives and Advance Its Radical Agenda (Birnham Woods Publishing, 2012), I show how today’s leftists use accusations of racism, white privilege, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, and greed to silence conservatives and marginalize their viewpoints.

Alinsky is the father of radical activism. His 1972 book, Rules for Radicals, codifies the revolutionary tactics he used to organize unions, minorities, and the poor to seize power from the “Haves” for redistribution to the “Have-Nots.”

In 1984, George Orwell said that totalitarian governments seek to make dissenting modes of thought impossible. This is precisely what today’s left-wing radicals attempt to do through the routine use of Alinsky’s tactics.

Few of today’s leftists know who Alinsky was or what he represented. Fewer still have read Rules or his prior book, Reveille for Radicals. Yet today union organizers, gay marriage activists, black civil rights agitators, radical feminists, and open-border’s advocates employ his tactics to the letter. They do so because those tactics have, through decades of practiced use, become part of the leftist DNA. The left-wing agitator doesn’t need to read Saul Alinsky’s Rules because those rules have been absorbed into the radical agitation machine like water is absorbed into a root.

In Fanning the Flames, I emphasize Alinsky’s oft-repeated instruction to radicals to use any means necessary to achieve their radical ends. “The only question the radical asks of a particular means,” Alinsky said, is “will it work.” My book illustrates through myriad real world examples how deeply today’s left has taken this instruction to heart.
