TIME: Union Bigs 'Under The Gun'

Unionist newsprogs ❤ violent imagery of class warfare, revolution
"We just won an election," labor boss Andy Stern crowed two years ago, at about the time Barack Obama was taking the oath of office and the union movement was giving itself the lion's share of the credit for getting him there.

After spending some $450 million to elect Obama and a supporting cast of Democrats, labor was calling in the chits: universal health care, higher taxes on the wealthy and so-called card-check voting rules to make it easier to unionize private employers.

For the latest reminder that two years is forever in politics, look how the mighty have fallen. The movement got only part of what it wanted from health care reform. On taxes and card check, zip. And across the country, new leaders are being sworn in to office with decidedly antiunion plans.

Formerly friendly Wisconsin has a new governor, Republican Scott Walker, who is promising to use "every legal means" to weaken the bargaining power of state workers — including decertification of the public employees' union.

Ohio's new governor, Republican John Kasich, wants to end the rule that requires nonunion contractors to pay union wages, and he's targeting the right of public employees to strike.

Indiana legislators talk of making their state — once a bastion of unionized manufacturing — a Midwestern right-to-work redoubt.

Even in places where Democrats cling to power, unions are under the gun.

Show-Me Hard Progs H8 Worker-Choice

Labor-state Agonistes

Incoming state Senate President Pro Tem Robert Mayer, R-Dexter, thinks his neighbors’ experiences in southeast Missouri suggest a need to change the entire state’s labor laws.

Looking at new jobs created in Tennessee and in northeastern Arkansas “over the last 15 years,” Mayer told reporters last week, “I believe that ‘Right to Work’ is a good policy for Missouri — certainly for southeast Missouri, southwest Missouri and other rural areas of the state.”

“Right to Work” is a provision of federal law that allows a state to prohibit what is called a “closed shop,” where membership in a union is required as a condition of having a job. But Senate Democrats immediately questioned Mayer’s plan.

BigGov Mix-Up Reported

Child Porn Probe Leads to FBI Headquarters
The government’s pursuit of suspects trafficking in child pornography recently led federal agents to a familiar address–the FBI’s Washington, D.C. headquarters, where a bureau official is the subject of an ongoing criminal probe, The Smoking Gun has learned.

The investigation by the Department of Justice’s inspector general is focusing on FBI employee Joseph Bonsuk’s receipt of nearly 80 illicit images that were e-mailed to him by an Illinois sex offender whose rap sheet includes felony convictions for bank robbery and solicitation of a minor.

In a telephone interview last night, Bonsuk, 51, acknowledged that he is under investigation, but said that the matter was a “misunderstanding” and a “mix-up.”

Tuscon Mystery Solved?

iOWNTHEWORLD.com beats the press

The news breaking today comes as a great shock to the MSM and has caused great consternation for the left-wing blogosphere – Jared Loughner is a Muslim.

Asked for comment on the developing revelation, Obama said “now is the time to slow down and not get too irresponsible with the blame game.”

Eric Holder added, “we must try to find out what Gabrielle Giffords did to deserve this and reach out and begin a meaningful dialogue that could lead to better understanding so that no one else repeats Giffords’ mistakes.

A former university professor, who wished to remain anonymous, said these were the “chickens coming home to roost.”

Several prominent lawyers have stepped forward and offered to defend Loughner pro bono. Asked why they hadn’t stepped forward until now, several lawyers stated, “there was still too much ambiguity as to Loughton’s political leanings,”

One lawyer said, “I thought he was Christian.”

More fake story later.

Blame O-Class Warfare

New Prog campaign v. free enterprise takes a toll

There have been a lot of instant analysis of the Tucson shooting that occurred over the weekend. Some have characterized the gunman as a "whack job" and pointed out his ramblings, others have viewed it through a political lens and blamed the hate mongers and their enablers on the Right.

The Class War begins?
I believe that the causes are more fundamental: It's a Class War. The chart below from Economix shows the pace of job recovery in the United States of this cycle compared to past cycles. Analysts have described this recovery as tepid, but "tepid" doesn't even begin to fully characterize this upturn.
