Abusive Union-Only Construction Cited

Typical state thugs shaft non-union contractors, workers with PLAs
An Idaho Senate committee OK’d legislation that would strengthen Idaho’s Right-to-Work laws that prevent local and state government entities from being required to enter into labor agreements with contractors on construction projects.

The Senate State Affairs Committee approved legislation opposed by unions and backed by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), which represents merit contractors, which are often non-union. The plan was backed on party lines, with Republicans favoring the plan and Democrats opposing it.

Sen. John Goedde, R-Coeur d’Alene, called the measure a job creator that would fix some of the abuses in contracting around the state.
