Obama OKs continued crackdown v. dissent

Typical straw-man tactic used to shift blame from D.C. collectivists

"What troubles me is when I hear people say that all of government is inherently bad," Obama said after receiving an honorary doctor of laws degree. "When our government is spoken of as some menacing, threatening foreign entity, it ignores the fact that in our democracy, government is us."

Government, he said, is the roads we drive on and the speed limits that keep us safe. It's the men and women in the military, the inspectors in our mines, the pioneering researchers in public universities.

The financial meltdown dramatically showed the dangers of too little government, he said, "when a lack of accountability on Wall Street nearly led to the collapse of our entire economy."

Enough Fundamental Transformation already. We are being transformed into the poorhouse. If anything needs transforming it is the government.

It seems to me that our fearless leaders would take a hint from Greece as to what huge government and entitlements turns into. California and New York are so close to being our Greece it is scary. We have cities contemplating bankruptcy, states on the brink of it, and the fed. one step behind. You wind up with a domino effect. Cities look to the states, states look to the fed. and the fed looks to … OOPS. I guess that is me and you.

Public employee unions are a huge part of the problem. They have negotiated such a great deal with the politicians that now that the bill is starting to come due there is not enough money to pay it. There is currently one trillion bucks in unfunded benefits. I, for one, am not interested in paying some union's bills.
