Obama: Hearts black-baller, tainted by Blago, corrupted absolutely by power.

Mismanagement: Meet the New Rosa Parks, DINOs heart RINOs, union-pension fraud, the forced-dues bus, evil-wrong, SEIU-P2P, on strike, UFCW organizers cuffed, ACORN lives, Marxism refreshed.

Meet DeMaurice Smith, the Obama insider-unionist who spiked conservatives ... The plot thickens on the media’s character-lynching of Rush Limbaugh. Of the four stories run on ESPN.com about Limbaugh’s bid for the Rams (October 6, October 12, October 15, and another October 15) none of them mention that NFL Players Association Executive Director DeMaurice Smith served as counsel to Attorney General Eric Holder and was a member of Barack Obama’s transition team. (americanthinker.com)

NFLPA big makes Rush Limbaugh the new Rosa Parks ... We suspect Mr. Limbaugh during his broadcast yesterday put his finger exactly on what is going on here. He said that NFL Players Association head DeMaurice Smith was using Mr. Limbaugh's controversial status as leverage against the league owners in the union's difficult negotiations over a collective-bargaining agreement. Earlier this year, the NFLPA's Mr. Smith and several player reps visited our offices and made clear their determination to win the negotiation with the league's owners. Fair enough. The group made a strong and businesslike case for their position. Mr. Smith was wrong, though, to send an email to the league's players earlier in the week, urging them to speak out on the Limbaugh bid, arguing that football "rejects discrimination and hatred." Shame on union thug blackballers ... This is an example of a black-ball ballot box, used famously by 19th-century men's clubs to vote down a potential member via secret ballot (a black marble). After watching the blackballing of Rush Limbaugh this week -- and, as I argue below, the blackballing of conservatism -- I realize the contemporary version would have to be made of glass. There was nothing secret about what happened -- which is part of the reason it was so frightening. (dianawest.net)

Obama NLRB appointee tainted by corrupt Blagojevich ... The plot thickens -- as in SEIU's pay-to-play plots in state government, including its most recent naked power grab: Its repugnant effort to intervene between children with disabilities and their parents by making home health care workers for disabled children in Illinois a closed shop. In an editorial today on President Obama’s nominee to head the National Labor Relations Board, the Wall Street Journal shines a light on Craig Becker, an associate general counsel at SEIU whose career is traced back to Gov. Rod Blagojevich: (cdobs.com)

Labor-state RINOs boost Dems ... 'Compromise' means electing Republicans who work on the Democratic agenda of "change we can believe in." It means legalized abortion, homosexual unions, pornography, gun confiscation, race-hustling, trillion-dollar deficits, bank-bailouts, outrageous taxation, illegal immigration, military impotence and socialized medicine. What he fails to tell us is that Illinois Republicans did that with Judy Baar Topinka's run for Governor. Yet she received fewer votes than did the uncompromising conservative, black guy from Maryland, Alan Keyes, when he ran for the Senate. The Republicans also did that with George Ryan and Scott Fawell, certified compromise "moderates" whom a federal court convicted of felonies. (dailyherald.com)

Typical: Nationwide plague of gov't-union pension fraud exposed ... It's taken more than a decade for CalPERS to address this whole matter. But earlier this year, it did finally put in place numerous policies governing ethics, campaign contributions, timely disclosures of such fees and other measures to protect against pay-to-play deals. Disclosures alone will probably not be sufficient to ferret out pay-to-play transactions, particularly because political contributions to elected officials aren't always transparent. Which might explain why New York instituted the controversial ban on placement agents, and the Securities and Exchange Commission threatens to follow suit. Chances are, CalPERS' reaction is just the beginning. The pension fund and many others with similar policies will now find themselves probing many such arrangements between public officials, investment funds and their go-betweens. (thedeal.com)

Proper role of gov't: Throw workers under the union-dues bus ... The alarming trend of politicians forcing workers into union ranks continues in Illinois as Governor Pat Quinn -- in order to win Big Labor's political support -- is resurrecting the sordid legacy of disgraced Governor Rod Blagojevich (and Gray Davis of California) subverting workers' rights to benefit forced dues-hungry union bosses. Quinn recently signed an executive order arbitrarily reclassifying state-reimbursed in-home health-care providers as state employees -- thereby opening them up to forced unionism under state law. Service Employee International Union (SEIU) and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) union organizers, armed by the state with the addresses of Illinois's nearly 3,500 in-home health-care providers, are competing to corral home health-care providers into compulsory union membership by going door-to-door to solicit support for their respective unions. Not Evil Just Wrong ... Not Evil Just Wrong is the film Al Gore and Hollywood don't want you to see. It reveals the true human cost of Global Warming hysteria. Not Evil Just Wrong shows how Global Warming alarmism and the tax increases that go along with it are going to increase costs for working families during one of the worst recessions in living memory. Al Gore and his allies want to ban fossil fuels in the developed world. This would devastate the American economy and drive jobs to India and China. Be part of the resistance. With your help we can bypass the barriers to distribution that Hollywood and the mainstream media put up to stop you from hearing the truth (noteviljustwrong.com)

SEIU sets P2P in Massachusetts ... Attorney General Martha Coakley has gained one of the most sought-after union endorsements in the race for US Senate, winning key backing from the Service Employees International Union local council. The council, which represents five unions and 60,000 workers, voted on the endorsement last night. It is the first time the council decided as a group to back one candidate. "This was a big endorsement," Coakley said this afternoon in an interview. "SEIU, I believe, is a modern and progressive union. They look at the future, they have modern organizing methods, and I think they represent workers who look forward with technology, particularly in health care." She continued, "I think people are pretty competitive about getting these endorsements, both because they represent a group of active people who get involved in elections, but also because they serve as kind of a shorthand for who is going to work for labor unions and who is going to work on behalf of those workers." SEIU strikes oppressive labor-state hospital ... About 500 Providence St. Peter Hospital workers represented by the Service Employees International Union walked off the job Thursday, largely to call attention to rising employee health care costs. (thenewstribune.com)

Gov't-union strike drags on ... Seventeen weeks after first walking off the job, the striking workers of the municipally owned ERTH Corp. decided to take their message directly to the shareholders. Starting with Thursday's picket in front of Ingersoll Town Hall, the roughly 50 striking workers hope to convince the mayors and councillors of the company's seven municipal shareholders -- Ingersoll, Zorra, East Zorra-Tavistock, South-West Oxford, Norwich, Central Elgin and Aylmer -- to take a more direct role in the ongoing negotiations. UFCW organizers arrested in Oregon ... Four people were arrested for trespassing and disorderly conduct at the Hillsboro Fred Meyer Thursday when police say representatives of a grocery union refused to leave the store when asked by company management. The names of the arrested, one woman and three men, were not available at press time. According to Hillsboro Police Department Lt. Mike Rouches, the union reps from United Food Commercial Workers Local 555 showed up Wednesday and Thursday and store officials said they were talking to employees who were trying to do their jobs. "The management said 'fine you can communicate with them on their breaks, in the breakroom, no problem,'" Rouches said. The workers left willingly Wednesday, but four refused to leave Thursday, saying management was depriving employees of their rights, Rouches said. (oregonlive.com)

Union-backed fraud group: Much ado about nothing ... Although large majorities of House and Senate Democrats have voted to cut off funding for ACORN, this rebuke could be reversed as soon as November 1st. This is a point that has been overlooked in press coverage of the besieged left-leaning community action group. Moreover, even if ACORN (the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now) does lose out on public funding it continues to receive support from foundations, corporations and individual donors, including George Soros. Despite the scope and magnitude of ongoing scandals that have ensnared ACORN officials, there remains a certain slyness to the news coverage in that the focus is on "conservative firestorms" and "McCarthyite tactics" , as opposed to potential felonies that have been captured on tape, to say nothing of voter fraud registration allegations and financial misappropriation. How ACORN shook down the U.S. housing market ... Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) explained to Glenn Beck on his TV show last night how the radical left-wing activist group ACORN uses the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) to shake down banks. The federal government, in effect, threatens banks into lending money to risky mortgage borrowers, Bachmann said. The CRA allowed groups such as ACORN to use the law to push banks into doing things they didn’t want to do. (canadafreepress.com)

Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely ... I recently had lunch with an old friend who owns a commercial/light industrial painting firm. He said his business is off 50% and he is down from 80 guys to 30. Unfortunately, this is a story I have heard all too often in 2009. The socialist plan to kill as many jobs as possible and make as many people as possible dependent on the government is working to perfection. Obama said in 2008 that he could be judged by the people who he has surrounding him. Yet another Marxist has joined that group, Robert McChesney. McChesney was a founder of Free Press, a self described Marxist group/publication. Van Jones is on the board of Free Press. Julius Genachowski, the chairman of the FCC has appointed Jen Howard his press secretary. Jen was formerly a spokeswoman for Free Press. Gee, what a weird set of coincidences. McChesney shares a very distorted view of the first amendment for free speech. He agrees with Mark Lloyd, Obama's Chief Diversity Officer, that the role model is Hugo Chávez of Venezuela. He openly admires the way Chávez has shut down all open opposition in the media. Now, the Obama administration has appointed Anita Dunn as their spokesperson assigned to monitoring FOX News for distortions and inaccuracies. Ms. Dunn recently volunteered that Chairman Mao was one of her two favorite philosopher; Mao, who is widely acclaimed as the largest mass murder in history, worse even than Hitler or Stalin. Ms. Dunn fits right in with the rest of the group surrounding President Obama. (auburnjournal.com)

Marxism: A Refresher ... Psychology: Marx believed no "human nature" exists. Ergo, persons are malleable for state use. People are not made in God's image. Instead, human life arose accidentally. Humans are mere worker bees in the hive, who can be eliminated when not wanted or needed. Only the group matters. Marx was infatuated with science and Darwin's new theory of Evolution, seeing everywhere proof of godless survival of the fittest. Writing partner, Engels, claimed at Marx's funeral, "Just as Darwin developed the law of the development of organic matter, so did Marx discover the law of human history." History: The Marxist view of history is fatalistic and magically progressive. It borrows Philosopher Hegel's "dialectic," teaching human society automatically improves over time. Marx believed a variant of biblical catastrophism, where an inevitable worldwide uprising of the poor demand Apocalyptic revolution. When communism arrives, history ends. Religion: Marx taught God doesn't exist. Religion is a lie, a tranquilizer for the masses. It cannot be tolerated since it's delusional, another way the powerful exploit the poor (Lenin sanctioned every attack against Christians, except mass extermination). It follows that no soul exists or any category of "sin." Morality is defined by how any action affects achieving or maintaining communism. (americanthinker.com)
