Obamunists not part of the solution ... Americans believe that the government is taking on too much responsibility for solving the nation's problems, according to a poll released today. A new Gallup poll shows that 57 percent of Americans say the government is trying to do too many things that should be left to businesses and individuals, and 45% percent there is too much government regulation of business. Both reflect the highest percentages on the issue in more than a decade. Just 38 percent feel the government should be more involved in making economic decisions. (nypost.com)

$1 trillion fraud: Anti-capitalist Stimulus ... If the stimulus isn't working, perhaps it's because it was largely written by a collection of leftist interest groups called the Apollo Alliance that counts among its directors a co-founder of the Weather Underground. The Labor Department reported Friday that 42 states lost more jobs than they gained in August, and that 14 plus Washington, D.C., reported unemployment rates of 10% or more. Michigan's rate rose to 15.2%, highest in the nation. Nevada, represented by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, is second with 13.2%. California, home of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, is tied for fourth with Oregon at 12.2%. Clearly, the stimulus bill that no congressman read is not working. As it turns out, no congressman may have written it either. It's largely the creation of a coalition of leftist organizations called the Apollo Alliance, whose primary interests are saving the Earth, environmental justice and redistributing wealth. They are not friends of job-creating capitalism. (investors.com)

Source of populist rage ID'd ... Just about the only organization hiring today is government. Big government strangles initiative and creates bureaucracies whose sole purpose is preservation and growth. That government that governs best is the government closest to the problem. But the federal government has imposed itself in many areas that a lower layer of government should be handling and has, in so doing, violated the restrictions placed on the federal government by the Constitution. When the going gets tough, Obamunists blame Bush ... Facing the increasing likelihood of losses in the 2010 midterm congressional and gubernatorial elections, President Obama and his fellow Democrats are returning to a tried-and-true campaign strategy — run against former President George W. Bush. Already, Democratic gubernatorial candidates in Virginia and New Jersey are testing the strategy — so far, however, unsuccessfully. "It will be a failed strategy," said Karl Rove, former senior political adviser to Mr. Bush. "They have been doing that very intentionally in New Jersey and Virginia thus far, and both their candidates are behind." While the strategy worked in both 2006 and 2008, when Democrats took control of Congress, Mr. Rove argued that voters have moved past the Bush administration and are now beginning to judge the current president on his own record. Obama: Impeach Me ... I think there is no question that Breitbart has the goods on the NEA, the White House Office of Public Engagement, its director Valerie Jarrett (a longtime Obamanista), her deputy director Buffy Wicks, and another federal agency, United We Serve. There is no doubt that the Obamacle is misusing and abusing the public trust, peddling propaganda, and using the threat of government power to coerce (and entice) artists into supporting his partisan agenda. And there is every likelihood that members of the Obama administration — and perhaps the president himself — have engaged in criminal behavior that, in a more rational and law-abiding era, might even lead to impeachment. (hotair.com)

Who is Buffy Wicks? ... BigGovernment.com continues to wake-up America to Obama Administration relationships with ACORN and Big Labor. BigGov’s latest story highlights Presidential Advisor Valerie Jarrett’s crew member Buffy Wicks who is the former political director of forced union dues financed WakeupWalmart.com (Wakeup). In the conference call, Wicks highlighted the important role United We Serve (Serve.gov) has in President Obama’s Organizing America strategy. See Dana Loesch’s article about Serve.gov directing volunteers to ACORN. The Obama campaign boastfully promoted Wick’s moniker, “Buffy the Wal-Mart Slayer” that highlights her community organizing experience with Wakeup’s efforts to increase costs for Wal-Mart and the prices for its customers. However, the Obama White House press release tones down Wicks past position: (biggovernment.com)

Help, I'm in the bubble and I can't get out ... Touting resilience in hurting upstate New York, President Barack Obama said Monday that better economic days are coming thanks to innovation and some help from the government. "As we emerge from this current economic crisis, our great challenge will be to ensure that we do not just drift into the future," Obama said at Hudson Valley Community College. "Instead, we must choose to do what past generations have done: shape a brighter future through hard work and innovation." (washingtontimes.com)

Friends of SEIU: Wade Rathke, Drummond Pike ... The Tides Foundation was founded in 1976, and began such notable organizations as the National Lawyers Guild, a Communist Front group, and has had such notable speakers as Lynne Stwwart, defender of the 1993 World Trade Center bombers. George Soros has given nearly $7 million to Tides, but its primary funding is federal grants. Thats right, federal grants. Wade Rathke is a Board Member of The Tides Foundation. The Tides Foundation has 16 Directors, one of who is Drummond Pike. Pike is a part of the Democracy Alliance, founded by George Soros. Recipients of Democracy Alliance grants are sworn to secrecy about the funds they receive from this organization, thus only a small percentage of its grantees are known to the public. One of those is ACORN. Pike also funneled nearly $1 million to ACORN through Citizens Consulting, Inc, later a focus of Congressional Hearings for RICO and electoral fraud during Obamas election. ACORN-Care: An autopsy ... The elderly were the first group to turn against President Obama's health-care pro posals, alienated by the plans to cut $500 billion cut from Medicare. The young and the uninsured may be the next to jump ship -- out of worry over about the huge premiums they'd have to pay. Requiring everyone to buy insurance will impose a massive tax on all who now are uninsured. The Congressional Budget Office projects that it would force the middle-income uninsured to pay on average more than 15 percent of their income. The poor will still have Medicaid. But for those earning more, the required premiums will be worse than any tax increase. (nypost.com)

Obama style, substance emerge ... One thing that seems to be fairly consistent about viewpoints on Obama is that people cannot seem to understand what he is doing…and why. Obama’s new huge slap in the face to US allies in Eastern Europe--via Obama’s dropping the US missile shield project--seems to have left many of the talking heads stupefied; not to mention further angering the US’ soon-to-be-former friends whilst drawing smiles from her enemies. These same pundits--both liberal and conservative--are also ruminating and scratching their heads in reference to Obama’s seemingly scattered mind as he pursues his Afghanistan project. “Does he want to win?,” they ask, followed up with “What’s wrong with him and why isn’t he listening to the generals running his war?” A newly leaked report-to-Obama indicates that without more troops Obama’s war in Afghanistan will be lost. Obama, who now heads up the UN Security Council--no doubt in direct opposition to the US Constitution that he hates--, told an audience in Troy, NY on Monday that he plans to take over the US economy almost entirely. and transform it from free market-based to Obama’s chaotic Alinsky-Marxist totalitarian power grab. Obama advises that he will “improve” the US economy with massive and apparently unbridled spending on education and some nebulous “innovation” that will further gut and bankrupt the country. Note: This is, of course, patently insane. But, Obama thinks that the majority of We-the-People are equally as stupid as his adherents and most of Congress. (webcommentary.com)

Dept. of Social Justice ties to ACORN probed ... The Justice Department's independent inspector general, facing calls for more federal scrutiny of ACORN, opened an investigation of the department's grants to the embattled liberal community activist group. The review will include whether ACORN applied for Justice Department grants, received funds and whether the agency performed an audit to account for how ACORN money was used, Inspector General Glenn A. Fine said in a letter to Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas, ranking Republican on the House Judiciary Committee. (washingtontimes.com)

President Obama lied: It's a tax ... Obama insisted this weekend on national television that requiring people to carry health insurance — and fining them if they don't — isn't the same thing as a tax increase. But the language of Democratic bills to revamp the nation's health care system doesn't quibble. Both the House bill and the Senate Finance Committee proposal clearly state that the fines would be a tax. And the reason the fines are in the legislation is to enforce the coverage requirement. "If you put something in the Internal Revenue Code, and you tell the IRS to collect it, I think that's a tax," said Clint Stretch, head of the tax policy group for Deloitte, a major accounting firm. "If you don't pay, the person who's going to come and get it is going to be from the IRS." (washingtonexaminer.com)

Skids Greased for Job-Killer Act ... In exchange for dropping card checks, EFCA backers gained three incredibly powerful proposals that will dramatically increase union ability to win elections. • Quick elections in five to 10 days after 30% of workers sign cards indicating their support for a union. The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) would run the elections, but the union will be able to control election timing. That will make it difficult for employers to make the case for remaining union-free. • Union access to employers’ property. This raises powerful private property issues, but the bottom line is that the EFCA will allow union access to the workplace. That will make it easier for union organizers to persuade employees to vote for union representation. A nagging question: Who will compensate employers for the work time lost? • No “captive audience” speeches. Employers wouldn’t be able to require employees to attend anti-union sessions. The key to union success is the quick elections. (businessmanagementdaily.com)

Give the dirty ACORN-SEIU money back! ... Republican congressional challenger Allen West applauded U.S. Rep. Ron Klein, D-Boca Raton, for voting last week to cut off federal money to scandal-tainted ACORN. But West says Klein’s a hypocrite if he doesn’t return $20,000 in past campaign contributions from the Service Employees International Union, which conservatives say is joined at the hip with the left-leaning Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. U.S. Department of Labor filings show SEIU has paid about $4 million to ACORN since 2005 for political activities. And ACORN founder Wade Rathke also founded a major SEIU local in New Orleans. Klein rejected West’s call to give back the $10,000 he got from SEIU in 2006 and $10,000 he received from the union in 2008. Klein “is proud to stand with the hard-working SEIU families of the 22nd District, who have nothing to do with ACORN,” spokeswoman Melissa Silverman said today. (postonpolitics.com)

MM: Inside SEIU's Culture of Corruption ... On Friday, SEIU thug-in-chief Andy Stern published a screed titled, “Working Women and Men Will Not Be Silenced by Right Wing Attack Dogs; We Will Win the Change America Needs.” He carped about “an insidious and coordinated effort on the part of the extreme right to target individuals and grassroots community groups as a way to silence the voices of women and men who have suffered the most under 8 years of right wing policies. These extremists will attempt to shut down and shout down anyone with a different point of view.” I’ve told you before about Stern’s operating philosophy: “[W]e prefer to use the power of persuasion, but if that doesn’t work we use the persuasion of power.” You can find my entire SEIU archives here. You can't touch #1 union-backed, tax-funded fraud group ... Although both the House and Senate have voted to de-fund the liberal activist group ACORN, it’s unlikely such a proposal will be enacted any time soon, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) told CNSNews.com. If House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid really wanted to defund ACORN, “we could have done it yesterday,” Bachmann told CNSNews.com. “It isn’t that I’m saying these votes won’t result in ultimately defunding ACORN, but right now you’ve got a vote on a housing bill and a vote on an education bill. How’s that going to come together?” (cnsnews.com)

ACORN: Tax Cheat ... ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis told Fox News' Chris Wallace on Sunday that her group "absolutely pays its taxes." Not true: The IRS and Louisiana's taxmen have imposed nearly $2 million in liens against ACORN for failing to fork over taxes at its New Orleans national headquarters. The IRS recently filed a $548,000 lien against the group, and Louisiana state tax officials have slapped $334,000 in liens on ACORN since last October. Evidence that ACORN ignored its tax obligations may be less exciting than its branch offices' eagerness to help a self-professed pimp break multiple laws, or the voter-registration fraud for which various of its workers have been convicted. But the tax mess shows that the lawlessness starts at its headquarters. (ACORN actually has three national HQs -- in the Big Easy, Washington, DC, and New York City.) (nypost.com)

Note to Durbin: RICO ACORN ... Senator, this is as diversionary and irresponsible as the lunatics who would have us believe that opposition to Obamacare is racially based. The House report was prepared well before ACORN’s Pimpgate. The bottom line, Senator, is that the report concludes that ACORN qualifies as a continuing criminal enterprise as defined under the Racketeer Influenced, Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and, as such, qualifies for prosecution. Surely, you’ll petition Holder, who promised to de-politicize the Department of Justice, to do what even you—perhaps the most partisan lawmaker on Capitol Hill—should recognize as what is right. (cdobs.com)

ACORN: You can't touch this ... Americans owe a huge debt of gratitude to 25-five-year-old James O'Keefe and 20-year-old Hannah Giles, who took on the favorite corrupt organization ally of President Obama and the Democratic Party -- ACORN -- and exposed its corruption with such determination, imagination and skill that this sleazy gang of so-called “community organizers” suddenly found itself first up against the ropes and then knocked down on the mat. Now here’s the bad news: just because ACORN is down does not mean it is out. (humanevents.com)

ACORN fights back against oppressive critics ... Any one of these is a serious allegation. Taken together, they give ACORN most every appearance of being some sort of massive criminal enterprise worthy of a federal investigation of the sort made under the terms of the Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act—or RICO. In fact the group and its affiliates are currently the target of more than a dozen lawsuits related to voter fraud in the 2008 election alone. As a result of the increased public scrutiny of its actions, the Obama administration has "severed it ties" with ACORN, at least as far as allowing it to participate in the 2010 Census. The U.S. House and Senate are both voting as fast as they can to cut off federal funding of the group and more than one coalition has been created to ask state legislatures and governors to do likewise. ACORN's response began as a militant defiance of the criticism, likening it to the use of "Willie Horton" in the 1988 presidential campaign. (usnews.com)

Obama meddles in #1 labor-state ... President Obama today greeted Gov. Paterson as "a wonderful man," neglecting to mention his political track record a day after a report emerged that the White House had told the governor not to run for office next year. (nypost.com)

Obama: We don't need no stinkin' UAW decert election ... A petition by some Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino dealers calling for the removal of the United Auto Workers as their union will be dismissed by the federal labor board, a labor official said Monday. If the petition to decertify the UAW as the dealers' union had moved forward, there could have been a new election in which dealers voted again on whether to join the union. International Collectivism

U.S.: Authoritarianism rears its ugly head ... Is the new Obama government in Washington giving us Socialism, Communism, or Fascism? Communist Russia called itself the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, better known as the USSR. Communist East Germany called itself the German Democratic Republic. Hitler’s Germany was ruled by National Socialists, better known as Nazis. Dictator Mussolini’s Italy was ruled by Fascists. So obviously you cannot tell the nature of a government by the name it gives itself. The United States was created as a Constitutional Republic, that is, a federal government limited in its powers by a Constitution. We are no longer that kind of a government. True, the 50 states still have some powers independent of the regime in Washington, but federal law has severely limited states' rights. And what the gang in Washington is trying to give us is plainly unconstitutional. So what do we have? Obviously, we are in a state of transition to some sort of totalitarian government that will have the power to dictate how we live our private lives: through a national healthcare system, government schooling, regulations of industry, global warming dictates, the shape of cars we will be permitted to drive, and eventual censorship. Disgraced, Obama-backed LatAm leftwing thug sheltered from arrest by Brazilian Troskyite ... Honduras was on a political knife-edge overnight Monday after ousted president Manuel Zelaya slipped back into the country, took refuge at the Brazilian embassy and said he would seek talks with the interim government to “restore democracy.” Evidently caught off guard by his surprise return, interim government leaders at first denied he was back in the country. After the U.S. State Department and then the Brazilian authorities confirmed that Zelaya was in Tegucigalpa, the Honduran capital, President Roberto Micheletti said later in the day that his presence “changes nothing.” (cnsnews.com)
