Liberty threatens Obama agenda ... In one of life's delicious ironies, the President, who campaigned as the Great Uniter, is worsening the split between the right and left and losing support in the process. Ordinary Americans, typically apolitical, are choosing sides -- and more are choosing the side of freedom every day. Lovers of liberty should rejoice. Division gets a bum rap. Imagine for a minute if Mr. Obama were able to unite Americans behind his radical agenda. We wouldn't just have bank bailouts and auto industry takeovers and a pork-laden stimulus, but, in short order, we'd have Cap and Trade and healthcare reform, Obama-style. We'd have Card Check and a new Fairness Doctrine. (americanthinker.com)

Will Obama face up? ... With the scandal involving ACORN now breaking wide open, it is time to ask the dreaded question that is asked each time a President is connected with a group that blatantly breaks the law--what did Barack Obama know, and when did he know it? (examiner.com)

Jackass: The Administration ... Lecturing Wall Street. Calling Cambridge police stupid. Holding beer summits. Pre-empting regular programming to announce what he’s having for lunch. The latest example of our president’s penchant for injecting himself into every issue, regardless of its significance, is when he called Kanye West “a jackass” for interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV music awards. He’s right, but it’s rather unseemly for the leader of the free world to weigh in on a boorish rapper, even though the comment wasn’t meant for public consumption. (telegram.com)

Will Obama become our worst ex-President ever? ... Carter appears be channeling Saul Alinsky. Here's a little of what the famous rebel espoused. Quotes are taken from Rules for Radicals. First of all, Alinsky was a true secular humanist who believed in nothing but the accumulation of power. Like most liberals he believed there is no such thing as truth. "An organizer working in and for an open society is in an ideological dilemma to begin with, he does not have a fixed truth -- truth to him is relative and changing; everything to him is relative and changing.... To the extent that he is free from the shackles of dogma, he can respond to the realities of the widely different situations." Carter, who left his Church recently, has always been a moral relativist, able to justify almost anything despite it opposing the Christian faith he professes. Since the Alinsky organizer does not believe in truth and his only God is power, his ethics are Machiavellian: "The third rule of ethics of means and ends is that in war the end justifies almost any means...." And also: "The seventh rule... is that generally success or failure is a mighty determinant of ethics...." In other words, "Might proves right." So if you lie, cheat, spread slanderous and false rumors about "the enemy," you are justified as long as it moves you toward the goal. Bingo! Does Carter really believe that all those opposing Obama are racists or is this simply a convenient tactic? (energypublisher.com)

Obama bans blue, white from U.S. flag ... Before last year's election, I heard a lot of people claim they didn't feel they knew who Obama really was. For my part, I felt I knew him all too well – which was why I didn't like him and wouldn't have voted for him even if he'd run unopposed, which, now that I think about McCain's campaign, was pretty much the way it was. Boneheads would have you believe my opposition to Obama is based on racism. I, on the other hand, would insist that when a presidential candidate announces that once his energy plan is in place, our energy costs will soar; that he will bury you if you have the temerity to own a coal company; and that he believes, as he told Joe the Plumber, that it is government's job to redistribute wealth, what does race have to do with it? I hated all that stuff back when it was being promoted by such white con artists as Karl Marx, Josef Stalin and Saul Alinsky. (wnd.com)

Unionists all wee-weed up for Obama ... As President Obama walked to the podium to address the AFL-CIO convention it felt like a prolonged earth tremor had begun. Three thousand people jumped to their feet and began almost five solid minutes of applause that only became louder every time the president begged them to be seated. People cheered, clapped and yelled. Some held back tears. Others, among them retirees, and Black, white, Latino, gay, straight, old and young men and women let it go with tears streaming down their faces. An African American woman delegate from Delaware hugged her white union sister from Maryland who was crying. They then embraced and jumped up and down together in the aisle. (pww.org)

ACORN watchdog issues caution ... Reader Kevin O’Brien smells a rat: "It’s a typical these-voters-are-such-rubes stunt; the House and Senate voted to defund ACORN on different bills. The Senate bill is a housing bill, the House bill the federal takeover of student loans. Each bill will wind up in conference committee where the ACORN ban can be quietly stripped out, behind closed doors and secure from prying eyes. Then the org can keep on doing its important work of voter fraud and pandering to presumed pedophiles. The most useful principle to hold close when considering members of Congress: they’re all crooks." (pajamasmedia.com)

Typical ACORN-SEIU operative gets Big House ... Jaime E. Feliciano, president of the radical Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 1000 District Labor Council 784, has been convicted of possessing child pornography. Even before the kiddie porn charges were laid, Feliciano was already a convicted sex offender, the Sacramento Bee reported last year. The paper reported that according to court records, “Feliciano was convicted in 1993 of lewd or lascivious act with a child under the age of 14 years, which is a felony.” Two SEIU locals, 100 in New Orleans and 880 in Chicago, are ACORN affiliates. The chief organizer of Local 100 is Wade Rathke, who was expelled last year from ACORN for orchestrating an eight-year long coverup of his brother’s embezzlement of nearly $1 million from ACORN. ACORN insider Keith Kelleher is chief organizer of Local 880. (canadafreepress.com)

Open the New Prog Pandora's Box ... In the wake of Fox News reporting on the unfolding ACORN scandal, ACORN is now threatening to sue the network. Now that Fox is actually breaking news on this story by showing new videos, ACORN might just do it. Fox News should pray that ACORN does sue, because it would blow the doors off this story, possibly destroying ACORN and erupting into a political scandal in Washington. (politico.com)

MSM shame: No guts, no glory ... If there’s one story that’s had it all in the past week it’s the series of undercover reporting stings that have uncovered the true nature of ACORN - the Association of Community Organisations for Reform Now. It’s got sex, misuse of taxpayer funds, the condoning of illegal activity by officials and connections to Barack Obama. You would be forgiven for having missed it, however, because it’s got almost no play in the mainstream media. It wasn’t the “New York Times”, CNN or NBC who broke the story. Rather, it was two twenty-something independents with a few thousand dollars, a bit of time and a lot of guts. (telegraph.co.uk)

Corrupt union bigs fund ACORN ... We decided to do a little digging into union financial disclosure forms on the Department of Labor's website. After examining union financial records, it turns out that officials of several high-profile unions diverted large sums of mostly forced union dues dollars to the same ACORN offices in Washington and New York that are implicated in the hidden camera scandal. In 2008, for example, the AFL-CIO New York City Teacher Union gave a total of $406,730 to an ACORN office in Brooklyn that was later exposed by undercover journalists at Big Government. This contribution was classified under "representational activities," meaning it was funded by teachers forced to pay dues to teacher union bosses. In states without a Right to Work law like New York, employees who don't join unions can still be forced to pay union dues if union bosses acquire monopoly bargaining privileges. The powerful Service Employees International Union (SEIU) has also made financial contributions to ACORN. In 2008, the SEIU transferred $12,500 to ACORN's Washington, DC office for "consulting fees and expenses." Once again, this was classified under "representational activities." The DC ACORN office is also implicated in the massive hidden camera scandal. Finally, the NEA union hierarchy made its own significant financial contribution to ACORN in 2008. According to Department of Labor disclosure forms, the NEA bosses transferred $78,000 to ACORN's Brooklyn office. (nrtw.org)

Oppressed teachers quit jumbo NEA ... Some teachers in the St. John School District have disaffiliated with the Washington Education Association (WEA) and the National Education Association (NEA) because they no longer wanted to give money to causes they didn't believe in. "Many of the teachers in St. John were just fed up with funneling huge amounts of their paycheck to advocate for immoral causes that the WEA and the NEA advance," said Cindy Omlin, executive director of Northwest Professional Educators (NWPE). "They thought those causes were hurting children, and they were tired of it." (citizenlink.org)

ACORN scandal: Just scratching the surface ... There's one thing more shocking than the illegal alien smuggling advice that an ACORN official in San Diego gave undercover journalists James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles. It's the illegal alien home loan racket that ACORN has already been operating with the full knowledge of the U.S. government. The truth is more sordid than any fictional scenarios caught on tape: ACORN is a corrupt enterprise. (patriotpost.us)

Shame on tax-funded, hyperpartisan, political fraud group ... It's appalling that it took a gotcha video to finally sour Congress on the ACORN radicals. The group's systematic attempt to corrupt the most sacred American institution, the ballot box, barely bothered Democratic lawmakers who found ACORN too useful politically to scold. (detnews.com)

Obama sop to Big Labor oppresses non-union workers ... Requirements that favor union labor in the construction of a $35 million Job Corps Center in Manchester could freeze out every New Hampshire contractor from bidding on the project, Republican Sen. Judd Gregg said yesterday. At issue is a restriction by the U.S. Labor Department that limits bidding on the future Dunbarton Road project to contractors that use a project labor agreement. (unionleader.com)

Jindal takes on union-backed, tax-funded fraud group ... Governor Bobby Jindal has issued an executive order cutting off current and future state funding to ACORN following a series of incidents captured on videotape and the subpoena of documents from the group’s national headquarters in New Orleans by the state attorney general's office. The executive order states that, “ACORN’s actions make clear that financial involvement with ACORN is contrary to the public policy of the State of Louisiana and the best interests of its citizens.” (wwltv.com)

Crist lays down with dogs ... Does this explain the state GOP's silence over ACORN? Huffington Post: "Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, for example, partnered with ACORN in March 2008 for a "Homeownership Promotes The Economy" taskforce. More recently, Crist declared that -- contrary to GOP outrage -- he was not upset with the group's voter registration efforts in his state. The New York Times reported that ACORN supported a law signed by Governor Crist, which "changed the rules last year to restore the voting rights of about 112,000 former convicts." (tampabay.com)

Airport to Nowhere OK'd for union-backed Dem baron ... More proof today that lawmakers are loath to tamper with the longstanding earmarking process that many of them utilize in Congress to bring home the bacon. By a vote of 43-53, the Senate defeated a measure that would have stripped federal funding from a barely-used airport named after Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa. (washingtonexaminer.com)

Drain the swamp: One term and out! ... I, like many Americans, have watched in disgust as our highest government offices fill and refill with politicians who place their self-interests ahead of the best interests of our republic. The consistent re-election of these senators and congressmen serves as an embarrassment to a nation that is so filled with infinitely more qualified and far more committed and honest individuals. All of our currently elected representatives should be voted out of office at the earliest possible time and not be allowed to run for any public office in the future. Do I believe in term limits? You bet! So, what exactly have these self-flagellating representatives accomplished for the United States during the past 40-plus years? (trib.com)

Tar Heel taxpayers heart Angela Davis ... Students, staff and local communities gathered Thursday in the Stewart Theatre to hear activist, educator and author, Angela Davis speak about civil and human rights. During her speech Davis spoke from the rights of individuals to the health care reform to the access of free education. She said movements of ordinary people are the movements that have brought about change. “We need to go out there and do what it takes to create communities of movement, communities of resistance,” Davis said. Davis is known for being involved in the nation's social justice as an author of eight books, and was on the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted List” list for criminals in the 1970’s. (technicianonline.com)

Rep. Loretta Sanchez placed on Dirty Money Watch ... WHO: Rep. Loretta Sanchez, D-Calif., a co-sponsor of the Employee Free Choice Act (aka Card Check). WHAT: Sanchez received the following dirty money: Communication Workers of America (PAC) $3,500 in 2008 election cycle; $6,000 in 2006 election cycle. Boilermakers Union (PAC) $6,000 in 2010 election cycle; $8,000 in 2008 election cycle; $7,000 in 2006 election cycle. American Federation of Government Employees (PAC) $1,000 in 2008 election cycle; $1,500 in 2006 election cycle; International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (PAC) $10,000 in 2006 election cycle. Service Employees International Union (PAC) $10,000 in 2008 election cycle; $10,000 in 2006 election cycle. United Steelworkers of America (PAC) $5,000 in 2008 election cycle; $7,000 in 2006 election cycle. WHY IT'S DIRTY: Multiple officers and members of these unions, including division presidents, secretary-treasurers and business managers, have been convicted since 2001 of felonies ranging from embezzlement, falsifying official reports to government, mail fraud and conspiracy. The Communication Workers of America and The American Federation of Government Employees have had eight convictions, the Service Employees International Union has had nine convictions and the Boilermakers have had 10 convictions, while the IBEW has had 14 members convicted. The United Steelworkers of America has had 30 convictions among its membership. The amounts of embezzled funds range from more than $5,000 to more than $100,000. WHAT: PMA Group (PAC) $4,000 in 2008 election cycle; $4,000 in 2006 election cycle. WHY IT'S DIRTY: PMA Group (Paul Magliocchetti and Associates) was a defense lobbying group that is now the focus of multiple federal investigations concerning allegations of influence peddling and other corrupt activities, mostly associated with earmarks. Before it was disbanded earlier this year, PMA Group's employees and its political action committee gave current members of Congress $3.4 million between 1989 and 2008, with 79 percent of that going to Democrats, according to OpenSecrets.org. WILL SANCHEZ GIVE IT BACK: Sanchez did not respond to The Examiner's request for comment. THE SCORE: Number of Democrats who have given it back: 0. Number of Republicans who have given it back: 0. YOUR TURN: You can reach Sanchez's Washington office at 202-225-2965. (washingtonexaminer.com)

Militaristic Prog Obama sets hot war to revive failing presidency ... The U.S. State Department has just wrapped up a deal with Colombia’s President Uribe that will lead to a massive buildup of U.S. military personnel across seven bases in Colombia. Currently, there are a reported 250 U.S. military operatives in this nation. With the new agreement, this number will jump up to 800 American troops and 600 civilian military contractors. This is the maximum number allowed under previous agreements. Even with this limit, however, many expect the U.S. military buildup to exceed these numbers. (pej.org)

Barack rolled by Vlad ... Last week, Moscow blocked a United Nations Security Council resolution against Iran and gave Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chávez $2 billion in arms on credit. Chávez claims he needs them for defense, but the bill of sale includes 100 T-90 and T-72M1M tanks. By supplying Chávez with a small army of tanks, Moscow has lit a fuse that could ignite a war between Venezuela and Columbia — a war that Chávez needs to distract his people from the country’s problems and that Prime Minister Vladimir Putin needs to raise the price of oil. (times.spb.ru)

VeneProg takes on Joe ... President Hugo Chávez's government is preparing to nationalize the nation's largest coffee producers, claiming the companies have refused to comply with federal price controls. Commerce Minister Eduardo Saman said he is recommending the nationalization of coffee plants belonging to Caracas-based companies Fama de America and Cafe Madrid. He did not say when the nationalizations could take place. (forbes.com)

Hugo's New Prog Rainbow Tour an incredible success ... He arrived in Libya in time for Moammar Qaddafi's big birthday party - the 40th anniversary of the day Qaddafi seized power in a coup, while Libya's king was away, seeing a doctor. Qaddafi gave Chávez a big hug. The Libyan leader likes to sleep in a tent, but Chávez had to stay in a hotel. There wasn't room for all 26 of his bodyguards in the back yard. The next day he went to the party and then flew on to Syria. There he played to the crowd and called Israel "a country that annihilates people and is hostile to peace." Most newspapers in the region published stories. Last time he was there, he dubbed himself "Chávez of Arabia." That also got coverage. (sacbee.com)
