Obama: Ripped by Boren, triggers backlash, OK's New Prog arms race, states up in His face, keeps company, shafts 17m, doesn't pencil out, truthy, gift stops giving, missing Van.

Mismanagement: Governed by Alinsky, New Prog cannibalism, ACORN rules democracy, teacher militants ignore judge.

International: Marxism expands, Lula apes Barack, Ortega forever.

Dem rips Obamunism ... U.S. Rep. Dan Boren said Congress should use the power of the purse to push the Obama administration to remove so-called czars that do not go through a confirmation process. Responding to questions during a telephonic town hall, the Oklahoma Democrat said he was glad Van Jones, who resigned over the weekend as controversy continued to build over past statements, has left his post. Boren joined others in criticizing the growing trend to name czars to lead efforts in specific areas. Such officials do not go through oversight hearings or a confirmation vote in the Senate. Boren referred to them as unelected bureaucrats who do not answer to lawmakers. "It is something I have heard a lot about," he said. (tulsaworld.com)

Obama triggers anti-socialist backlash ... I would like to offer my deepest gratitude to the Obama administration and the Democrat-controlled Congress for the invaluable public service they have performed. By their aggressive actions they have done the impossible — awakened the sleeping giant of the silent majority. They have unleashed their worst and most powerful of enemies — taxpayers — the ones paying for all these absurd, destructive and basically unconstitutional confiscations and redistributions of our private property. This rage is not a momentary passion. (blogs.kansascity.com)

New Prog arms race is on ... Chávez arrived in Moscow to coordinate a new package of documents for defense cooperation with Russia, The Vedomosti newspaper wrote with reference to a source at Russia’s defense export corporation, Rosoboronexport. The new documents stipulate a shipment of up to 20 Tor-M2E missile complexes to Venezuela, as well as up to 100 modernized T-72M1M and new T-90 tanks, Il-76 cargo planes, Il-78 refueling aircraft and other hardware in the total sum of up to $2 billion. VeneProg urges disarmament ... In an interview with French daily Le Figaro, President Hugo Chávez revealed that Iran is helping Venezuela develop what he called "a civilian nuclear program." The president was in Tehran last weekend with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as part of a tour that has taken him to Europe, Africa and Asia. Chávez defended Iran's right to develop nuclear power as do France and many other countries. But the president rejected nuclear programs for military purposes, considering the use of the atomic bomb a disaster, and suggested moving toward widespread disarmament. (poder360.com)

States get up in Obama's face ... To many, nullification is an obsolete term, discredited as a viable policy option more than a century ago by four years of bloody Civil War. But to those who see their very lives and futures hanging in the balance of the health care debate, to voiceless citizens whose freedoms are being systematically usurped by all three federal branches, nullification may be the next logical step. Already, state legislators from Arizona to Florida to Georgia have proposed measures to nullify unconstitutional aspects of any federal health care law. Which, in all likelihood, would mean pretty much the entirety of H.R. 3200. But even more intriguing is the precedent a nullification fight would set and the confidence it would build for those in the liberty movement. (thedcwriteup.com)

Alinksy governs U.S. ... Saul Alinsky, a radical activist and community organizer from Chicago, believed to change a country, first you create a crisis. Is Washington following his philosophy? We had the banking, mortgage company and auto industry crises mostly due to government intervention, then government takeover. The stimulus bill — $787 billion — passed although members of Congress did not read it, no one knows who wrote it and no one knows where the money went. (yankton.net)

The company He keeps ... During last year's campaign, then-candidate Obama shrugged off questions of his affiliation with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers by urging us to judge his presidency by the people with whom he surrounds himself. Well, President Obama surrounded himself with the likes of Van Jones -- a self-avowed communist, who has made racist statements and signed a petition insinuating that former President Bush had something to do with the 9/11 terrorist attacks. And how about the Obama "Science and Technology Policy Czar" John Holdren, who once considered forced abortions and sterilizations a solution for population growth? President Obama invited us to judge him by the company his administration keeps. We are doing just that. (chicagotribune.com)

Obama shafts 17 million folks ... In his speech tonight, the president introduced a new number in the health care debate. Remember all those statements from Democrats, including Barack Obama himself, that 47 million Americans are without health insurance? That's no longer the operative number. "There are now more than thirty million American citizens who cannot get coverage," the president said in tonight's speech. But on August 10, at a town hall meeting, Obama referred to the "46, 47 million people without health insurance in our country…" And on July 23, he said, "This is not just about the 47 million Americans who don't have any health insurance at all…" What's the difference? (washingtonexaminer.com)

Obama doesn't pencil out ... President Barack Obama used only-in-Washington accounting Wednesday when he promised to overhaul the nation's health care system without adding "one dime" to the deficit. By conventional arithmetic, Democratic plans would drive up the deficit by billions of dollars. The president's speech to Congress contained a variety of oversimplifications and omissions in laying out what he wants to do about health insurance. A look at some of Obama's claims and how they square with the facts or the fuller story: (washingtonexaminer.com)

Why don't sharks bite lawyers? ... Democrats and Republicans alike are denouncing Rep. Joe Wilson for shouting "You lie" at President Barack Obama during his speech to Congress, an extraordinary breach of decorum for which the South Carolina Republican swiftly apologized. (cnsnews.com)

Because we cannot handle the truth ... It’s not like President Barack Obama hasn’t already been lying about health care “reform.” We’ve been lied to about how socialism works so well in other countries…only we can’t seem to find any. Canada, England, Sweden…socialized medicine always disappoints, where ever it’s tried. We’ve been lied to about rationing and the so-called “death panels.” They’re already in operation in other countries with socialized medicine, and even in areas of the United States like Oregon and Massachusetts. New Prog cannibalism exposed ... The recent resignation of Van Jones, Obama’s Green Jobs Czar, confirmed not only Jones’ lack of fitness for the position from which he resigned but also the changing political fortunes of the Democrat Party. And since some czars, such as Mark Lloyd, continue running their mouths while Democrat poll numbers plummet, we have to wonder what Democrat will be jettisoned next? (humanevents.com)

I have a gift, Harry ... President Obama's healthcare address to Congress displayed the oratorical gift he once revealed to Harry Reid. But the gift has stopped giving. In an updated version of his biography, Senator Reid tells of a conversation he once had with then Senator Obama about a speech Obama delivered on President Bush's war policy. Reid said to Obama, "That speech was phenomenal, Barack." Obama replied, "I have a gift, Harry." (americanthinker.com)

Sore leftwing losers ... Count on it: If liberals lose on health care — either because no major legislation passes or because they consider whatever legislation does pass inadequate — they are going to blame the loss on a campaign of deception by their critics. While liberals have more political power now than at any point in at least three decades, they also have a generation of experience at being sore losers. (nrd.nationalreview.com)

Democracy thieves ID'd: Union-backed, tax-funded fraud group ... When the extortion and vote-fraud conglomerate ACORN isn’t busing schoolchildren to the nation’s capital to protest proposed tax cuts, it’s busy campaigning to expand the size and scope of government, raising the dead from cemeteries and leading them to the voting booth, and promoting the so-called Fairness Doctrine in order to bludgeon conservative-dominated talk radio. Although congressional Democrats refuse to investigate ACORN, so far this year alone voter registration fraud charges have been laid against former ACORN employees in Nevada and Pennsylvania. Nevada charges were laid against two former senior ACORN executives and against the nonprofit entity itself. (townhall.com)

Typical ACORN fraud in Florida ... The arrests today in Miami-Dade County include a mother, her son and her daughter, according to Ed Griffith, spokesman for Miami-Dade State Attorney Katharine Fernandez Rundle. The FBI, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Rundle’s office scoured hundreds of suspicious voter registration applications provided by ACORN. The accused apparently created fake voters who did not exist, signed the forms and handed them in. (postonpolitics.com)

Militant teaches show kids, parents, judge who's the boss ... The Kent School District strike continues. The Kent School District strike is still ongoing, despite the teachers finding themselves threatened by a King County Superior Court Judge in Washington State. The Kent School District teachers have been on strike for almost two full weeks now, and have missed seven days of school as of Wednesday, September 9th. The Kent School District teachers voted again on Labor Day to continue their strike, as negotiations have not been going well, and this caused a local judge to issue a very stern warning that many are considering a threat. Controversial leftwing political-charity group stages Van Jones vigil ... There was lots of buzz about the Van Jones resignation yesterday at the Tides Foundation Momentum Conference, but one speaker took the issue head on, and that was Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins, Jones' successor at Green for All, the organization he founded to promote quality training and green jobs at the grassroots level. Ellis-Lamkins had a lot to say, and she is not shy. (alternet.org)

Obama, Chávez OK Marxist expansion ... Has Obama sided with Chávez? That's certainly the view of the leader of Honduran coup regime Roberto Micheletti, whose spokesman angrily denounced the 30 million dollar cut in US aid announced on Thursday. Micheletti's spokesman added that Obama's decision "condemned the people that struggle against Marxist expansion in Central America". (venezuelanalysis.com)

Obama to deploy ACORN in Honduras ... "A presidential election is currently scheduled for November. That election must be undertaken in a free, fair, and transparent manner," said Assistant Secretary Crowley. "It must also be free of taint and open to all Hondurans to exercise their democratic franchise." At this moment, the United States would not be able to support the outcome of the scheduled elections. A positive conclusion of the Arias process would provide a sound basis for legitimate elections to proceed. (voanews.com)

Trotskyite Lula apes Obama, oppresses Hondurans ... Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said Wednesday that his administration will not recognize the upcoming Honduran presidential elections, as continued protest against the country's coup. President Lula reaffirmed his government's disapproval of the Honduran coup while hosting a luncheon for El Salvadoran President Mauricio Funes. He said he will not recognize any Honduran government except for that of elected President Manuel Zelaya. "We will not recognize elections carried out by the forces of regress and authoritarianism," Lula said. (news.xinhuanet.com)

New Progs redefine 'republic' ... President Hugo Chávez proposed on Wednesday in Minsk to Belarusian President, Alexander Lukashenko, to unite the two countries in a "new union of republics," as a proof of their excellent relations. "We need to create a new union of the republics," of Venezuela and Belarus, Chávez said after his meeting with Lukashenko in the capital of the former Soviet republic, AFP reported. Sandinista Ortega: We don't need no stinkin' change ... Nicaraguan Vice President Jaime Morales said he opposes President Daniel Ortega’s bid to change the constitution to allow re-election and will step down if Ortega stays in power after his term expires in 2012. “Re-elections have spawned dictatorships, tyrannies, confrontations and civil war,” Morales, 72, said in an interview at the InterContinental Hotel in Managua today. “I think frequent change of power is preferable.” (bloomberg.com)
