Obama: Telecons w. SEIU, OK's beat-downs, typical Marxist, destroys Dems, for life-in-office, stiffs dealers, H8s GOP geezers, rides white guilt, TOTUS rules.

Mismanagement: Anti-captialist agenda on the brink, anti-socialism faked, illegal experiments OK'd, union hires scabs, desert ACORN agonistes, UAW rolls Tribe, Teamsters scabbed, another Teamster strike.

International: Putting down Hillary, Right joins Left v. term limits, Obama hearts Hugo, paranoid LatAm leftists, Stone takes on Chávez.

Union thug agenda fail? ... This was supposed to be the renaissance year for organized labor. With Republicans routed from every position of power in Congress and the executive branch, unions saw a clear path to long-cherished goals such as card-check and national health. Instead, 2009 has been a surprising struggle. True, the administration of Barack Obama has helped where it could, as when it gave the United Auto Workers an ownership stake in GM and Chrysler. But the bigger story has been the public push-back against the unions' political agenda. Secret ballots, at least for now, are still the rule in union-certification elections. The president's support of a government health insurance, the shortest route to a single-payer plan, is on-again, off-again. And the public's patience with union demands shows signs of fraying. Take the case of San Francisco, surely one of the most liberal and union-friendly places in the country. (ibdeditorials.com)

SEIU Dictator Andy Stern: Join me and Barack today @ 2:30 pm EST ... I’m getting on a call with President Obama tomorrow and I want you to join me. The President is holding a live health care reform strategy meeting on Thursday at 2:30 pm EST. He’ll lay out our strategy and message going forward, and he’ll answer questions from SEIU activists and supporters like you. Click here to RSVP and submit a question for President Obama: http://my.barackobama.com/forum. It’s impossible for me to tell you in an email how proud I am of the work SEIU members and health care activists are doing to advance real health reform. Everywhere Congress goes, we’re there to meet them. It’s driving our opponents crazy; I think that means we’re doing something right. Join tomorrow’s call with the President and keep the momentum going. In a few weeks, Congress goes back to Washington and the final push for a health reform bill will be underway. Now, more than ever, we’ve got to be on the same page to create real change in the health care system for working families across the country. I hope you’ll join the President and me tomorrow as we discuss how we’re going to get it done. Thanks, Andy Stern, President, SEIU (michellemalkin.com)

Obama OK's purple people-beaters ... That would be the purple-shirted members of the SEIU--the Service Employees International Union—who (literally) swung into action outside a town hall meeting in Missouri and became infamous on YouTube and national media. “Town Hall Protestor Roughed Up by SEIU Members” read one headline. The legal system will sort out what happened to David Gladney, the victim of the attack. But public opinion will sort out whether SEIU is sending thugs to town halls. The union “Purps” also turned out in force at President Obama's town hall in New Hampshire. SEIU brought its people in by chartered buses after getting special tickets from the White House. And why shouldn’t the president give ‘em freebie tickets? He owes them! After all, the SEIU spent $61-million to help elect him. The union also set aside $10-million to push Obama’s agenda in its post-election “Change That Works” campaign, and pledged more, including 30% of the union's resources and hiring over 1,000 workers in 35 states. Oddly, that level of orchestration goes unremarked by mainstream media, while conservative organizing gets critical coverage. (tulsatoday.com)

Obama steed: White guilt ... The Obama detractors, on one hand, are legitimately outraged about his socialistic, big-government spending — both current and planned. On the other hand, the Obama supporters are furious with themselves. Why? For engaging in self-deception and denial since his presidential campaign, for gullibly becoming infatuated with him. There is nothing new about Barack Obama or his intentions, all of which were well-documented and evident before the election last November. Obama is a student of Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals and the Cloward-Piven Strategy, and a crony of Professor Bill Ayers and Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Yet, Obama’s fawning groupies purposely turned a collective blind eye to his thinking, statements, and associations — I believe — because they psychologically needed him to assuage their white guilt. Obama: Typical Marxist fear-monger ... Are you fearful yet? I am. I am fearful that we have a president and Congress that has us so deep in debt, we will never get out. Fearful that we have a government that has taken over the banking, energy and automobile industries, with their sights clearly set on other private businesses. Their goal is to control our lives. I am fearful that "cap and trade" will further erode our economy, and the Employee Free Choice Act will completely eliminate free choice in the work place. Fearful that perfectly good, serviceable automobiles have been destroyed in the name of protecting our environment and that people were paid with our taxes to buy new cars. I am fearful that we have a president who wants to dismantle and nationalize our health care and eventually eliminate private insurance with one-size-fits-all, except for selected elitists. This too, will add trillions to our debt. I am fearful that the president has appointed 34 "czars" who will rule over every phase of our lives, determining what we can and can't do, according to the "good of the collective whole" of our society. Czars who answer to no one, except the president. Sounds Marxist to me. (thenewsstar.com)

Leftwing Obama-Pelosi Dems cultivate 'Voter Option' ... Sure, the Democrats could pass a health care bill. They have the votes to do whatever they want. Well, good luck with that. As we all have seen from constituents shouting down their quaking representatives, the public is up in arms about the "reforms" proposed. Democrats would be wise to think twice about trying to ram them down the public's throat. One new poll shows that Americans, by an overwhelming 59% to 36%, agree Congress shouldn't pass a health care bill with just Democratic support. And a Pew Poll shows that, for the first time in the Obama era, fewer than half of all Americans have a favorable view of the Democrats. If Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Henry Waxman and the wonks in the White House think they'll get a free political pass on this, they're in for a big surprise. (ibdeditorials.com)

Obama to seek life sentence? ... There have been several attempts to repeal the 22nd Amendment, including attempts by Rep. Barney Frank, Rep. José Serrano, Rep. Howard Berman, and Sen. Harry Reid. The website End22.com supports repealing the 22nd Amendment and also supports a third term for President Barack Obama. Aside from the obvious benefits of waiting to see if his first term is even a success (which so far it is far from), the argument to repeal the 22nd Amendment is not a strong one if the reason for its repeal is so that a particular individual can benefit. It is one thing to believe that the American people can vote out poor presidents and keep in good ones, but to repeal an Amendment for one specific person is not a good idea. I am of the opinion that term limits help to prevent dictatorships. (examiner.com)

Fake anti-socialist exposed ... Earlier this month, we covered the story of the “Socialist Joker” Obama poster, which was spotted around Los Angeles and as far afield as Chicago. By early August, the image had gone viral, enraging progressives and earning plaudits from conservatives. Now, thanks to some gumshoeing by the folks over at the Los Angeles Times, the creator of the portrait has been unmasked. And guess what? He supported the liberal candidate Dennis Kucinich. “I abstained from voting in November,” 20-year-old college student Firas Alkhateeb told the Los Angeles Times. “Living in Illinois, my vote means close to nothing as there was no chance Obama would not win the state.” Still, he added, had he voted, he would have thrown his ballot to Kucinich, famously a punching bag for right-wing types. TOTUS blog overwhelms servers ... If you are even partially politically aware in this country, or saw the pilot episode of The West Wing, you know that POTUS stands for President of the United States. Kind of insider speak, if you will. Now with our current President, we have been introduced to TOTUS, the Teleprompter of the United States. Anyone who has seen President Barack Obama speak both with the aid of TOTUS, and without his trusted friend by his side, knows that the tails TOTUS weaves on his blog, which you can read here, are true! Without TOTUS, Barack Obama is mostly a rambling, barely intelligible speaker, as shown here and here. (thespeechatimeforchoosing.blogspot.com)

Deadbeat Obama stiffs dealers ... Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood assured car dealers Wednesday that they will be reimbursed for the popular Cash for Clunkers program, responding to complaints over a backlog of rebate payments. "I know dealers are frustrated. They're going to get their money," LaHood told reporters. He said the Obama administration would soon announce how much longer the $3 billion car incentive program will last. Through early Wednesday, auto dealers have made deals worth $1.81 billion and are on pace to exhaust the program's funds in early September. The program offers car buyers rebates of $3,500 or $4,500 for trading in older vehicles for new, more fuel-efficient models and has generated more than 435,000 vehicle sales. (cnsnews.com)

Cash for Republican geezers? ... Following on the popular "cash for clunkers" program in which the government offered people thousands of dollars to turn in older, less efficient cars, President Obama and Democrats in Congress created a new "greenbacks for geezers" program that encourages people to turn in older, more expensive relatives who would otherwise be a drain on health care resources. Participants can get $3,500 for turning in octogenarians, $4,500 for nonagenarians, and use the money for their own health care. Administration officials defended the program, saying "If we're going to have any hope of saving money in a government-run health care system, we're going to have to limit spending on the most expensive procedures seniors require." Illegal gov't experiments are never rolled-back ... "It's interesting, a lot of members of Congress may have forgotten what their Constitution says," said Bachmann. "But again, it is not within our power as members of Congress, it's not within the enumerated powers of the Constitution for us to design and create a national takeover of health care. Nor is it within our ability to be able to delegate that responsibility to the executive." So if Bachmann thinks federal activity in health care is illegal under the constitution, should Medicare be abolished immediately? (tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com)

Corrupt Carpenters Union hires scabs ... They're being paid, but they are not receiving benefits — which is ironic, considering that the flyers they're handing out criticize contractors for not providing benefits to contractors. And so, in this latest chapter of Cleveland labor history, we have carpenters union leadership paying for a long-term demonstration by people who are not members of the union and not even in the building trades. The union is using member dues — if there is another source of money paying for this, no one has revealed it — to hire people off the street at minimum wage with no benefits. If true, this means that a union has hired scabs — a first in Cleveland labor-union history. (clevescene.com)

Union fraud-group attorneys swarm desert ... A former Las Vegas director for a political advocacy group accused of illegally paying canvassers to register voters during last year's presidential campaign has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge and agreed to testify against the group and another employee. Christopher Edwards pleaded guilty this week to two gross misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit the crime of compensation for registration of voters. He agreed to testify against the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, known as ACORN, and Amy Busefink, a former regional voter registration director. Busefink's lawyer, Kevin Stolworthy, said she plans to fight the charges. A lawyer for ACORN did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment from The Associated Press. (google.com)

UAW subdues oppressive Tribe bosses ... The Mashantucket Pequot Tribe plans to move to arbitration for contract negotiations with the union representing 2,500 dealers at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut. The UAW members want tips to be distributed in one pool for dealers at both the Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods. The union would also like part-time dealers to be eligible to receive benefits, which the tribe had planned to roll back (smartbrief.com)

Striking Teamsters scabbed, officials fear violence ... Granite Construction Company has hired several drivers who used to be represented by Teamsters Local 533 and will probably not return to negotiations with the union, a company official said Wednesday. “We are not currently in negotiations with Local 533 as has been reported,” Rod Cooper, branch manager for Granite’s Sparks office said, reading a company statement. “Fortunately, we have had very little disruption to our projects and are very pleased that our dedicated employees are back to work.” The company hired about 30 drivers who worked for it in the past while represented by the union, Cooper said. The company will continue to staff as needed, he added. (rgj.com)

Teamsters out on strike v. oppressive Yellow Cab ... A dozen dispatchers and office workers at Victoria's largest taxi company are on strike, calling for wage parity with their competitors and improved benefits. Dave Angus, business agent for Teamsters Local 213, said Yellow Cab of Victoria employees hit the picket lines after rejecting the company's latest offer. (timescolonist.com)

Paranoia grips LatAm leftist thugs ... Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, who was briefly ousted in a 2002 coup himself, said Cuba's Fidel Castro told him the situation in Honduras will "open the door to the wave of coups coming in Latin America." "Fidel says something that is very true," he said. Added Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa, a close ally of Chávez and Zelaya: "We have intelligence reports that say that after Zelaya, I'm next." (google.com)

Global surge in dictatorship: Right joins Left ... Colombia’s Senate passed a bill that may pave the way for a national referendum on whether to allow President Alvaro Uribe to seek a third consecutive term in next year’s presidential election. The Senate voted late yesterday 56-to-2 to approve the bill, which still needs to go through the lower house. If lawmakers vote in favor of the proposal on Aug. 25, it moves to the constitutional court for review. The bill calls for a binding referendum to remove constitutional term limits and allow Uribe, who hasn’t disclosed his intentions about a third term, to run again in 2010. A referendum may be held by the end of the year. (bloomberg.com)

U.S. foreign policy talisman: Put down Hillary ... Fresh from her seven nation tour of Africa – highlighted by an immensely embarrassing boogie dance in Kenya and an alligator–like snap at a defenceless Congolese student – the almost invisible secretary of state has been given a demotion in the Forbes Magazine annual list of the 100 most powerful women in the world. Hillary Clinton has slipped eight places from 28 to 36, despite being elevated to the second most powerful position in the US government in January. How she actually achieved that drop in these circumstances would confuse even Sir Isaac Newton, but can be explained by a less than stellar performance in Foggy Bottom. Hillary has been increasingly marginalized by the Obama team with its array of special envoys jetting across the world as well as by her own hubby who appeared like a rabbit out of a hat in Pyongyang on his own diplomatic mission two weeks ago. She looks more and more like a stern but easily flustered school teacher who’s losing control of her own class. American foreign policy under Obama is increasingly decided in the White House, not in the State Department, and has so many different tracks that it lacks any real coherence. It resembles a poorly stitched patchwork quilt rather than a carefully crafted global strategy. (blogs.telegraph.co.uk)

Obama hearts Chávez ... As with any bully, to Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chávez, weakness is a provocation. A self-defined enemy of the U.S., Chávez is running amok and challenging us at every turn--testing whether we care enough to defend our principles or stand by our allies. Congress is right to insist that the Obama administration prove that it understands the Chávez threat, and it is putting a policy in place to protect our interests close to home. (forbes.com)

Oliver Stone: The Secret History of Hugo Chávez ... Director Oliver Stone, never a stranger to controversy, will be taking a rare turn on the small screen, bringing a series of history documentaries to US cable television, local media said Wednesday. Stone plans a television event called "Oliver Stone's Secret History of America" on US historic events due to premiere in 2010 on the cable channel Showtime. "Through this epic 10-hour series, which I feel is the deepest contribution I could ever make in film to my children and the next generation, I can only hope a change in our thinking will result," Stone said in a statement. Stone, 62, is also working on a documentary on the left in Latin America and Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez. (google.com)
