Barack's big, fat New Prog failure ... What happens when the thing a president knows best is a set of tactics designed to take power from the "haves"? When the most highly prized info a president ever garnered could be summed up as nothing better than gaming an electoral system with ACORN pay-for-registration schemes? What happens when a president is very skilled in deceptively cloaking these less-than-altruistic means in rhetorical "moral garments" and his lies finally start catching up with him, destroying his credibility? When a president has never actually run anything successfully, not even his own paper route or a PTA meeting or a small town's city council? What happens when power-grab tactics, taught by a rabble-rousing revolutionary, suddenly catapult a charismatic demagogue into the highest power-perch in the world? Well, then, Barack Obama's big, fat governance failure happens. (americanthinker.com)

Obama fail: CBS cites four huge mistakes ... Fourth, the unscripted errors made by the President himself. The "They do it all the time… UPS and FedEx are doing just fine… It's the Post Office that's always having problems" incident being only the most prominent of several misstatements by Obama. The audacity of his musings about doctors' motivation for amputation was perhaps the most egregious - the subtext of it declared that his policies were in conflict with some of the most trusted figures in American society (Obama made this a three-fer by insulting doctors at the same time he was angering policemen with his ill-timed comments on the arrest of Prof. Henry Louis Gates, while irate firemen were testifying against his Supreme Court nominee). It was not just an unwise statement; for any other politician, it would have been a disastrous one. (cbsnews.com)

You'd better get used to it ... Violence erupted at a townhall meeting hosted by North Carolina congressman David Price, after a protester was punched in the face for voicing his opposition to proposed changes to health care coverage in America. The assault took place at the end of an opening speech Congressman Price at North Carolina Central University in Durham. Eyewitnesses of the assault say claim the assailant was an African-American woman who openly supported Obama. Conservatives who went to the meeting sponsored by SEANC, the South’s leading employee union with 55,000 members, say it was highly scripted and was more of a presentation than an actual townhall meeting. Union-run Security banned any anti-health-care reform posters while allowing Democrats to distribute leaflets promoting Barack Obama. As security officials took away the assailant, Democrat Party supporters mocked the victim, asking him, “do you have health care?”. The victim, who wishes not to be identified, is pressing charges against his attacker. (therightperspective.org)

SEIU beat-down exposes Obama's racial double-standard ... We are fast learning the personality of this president. He was elected by hiding his beliefs from the majority of American people. To cover his behind on the above incident, Obama had the boys over for a beer and completely trivializes his racial extremism. Last week Kenneth Gladney is beaten by union thugs from the SEIU. Gladney's crime was exercising his right of free speech handing out flags at a town hall meeting of Democrat, Russ Carnahan. Virtually nothing appeared in the media. Gladney is a conservative black man. Obviously Obama, the media and the Democrats have no concern for conservative black people. The media, which ignored this incident, is now proudly demonizing Gladney in an attempt to deem what happened irrelevant. What shear hypocrisy. We read editorials in The Sheboygan Press criticizing people who criticize Obama. Is democracy just for elitist Democrats? Is free speech reserved for Democrats? We have never experienced the trampling of basic rights as we are experiencing right now. (sheboyganpress.com)

Leftist denies specificity of Alinsky's Rules (see sidebar) ... One of the more amusing memes being pushed by the right wing at the moment is the use of Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals to explain everything Obama or anyone else they disagree with does at any given moment. I've seen this referenced a dozen times over the last few weeks, using some vague statement by Alinsky that applies to practically anyone involved in politics in order to imply that, since Alinsky was a "Marxist" then so is anyone else seen practicing those highly unspecified rules. Leftwing front-groups plague U.S. ... It’s now official—the average American is not as stupid as Washington DC Democrats and their international leftist friends thought. Their mystery messiah has already gone from hero to zero after only seven months in power, and Obama has now become a noose around the neck of every American Democrat, and every international fascist who “hoped” Obama could usher in Marxist “change.” Nobody can organize a community like a good old fashioned communist thug can. It worked long enough to put a mystery man in the Oval Office, thanks to international socialists working through CPUSA - SPUSA and DSAUSA, funded by literally hundreds of leftist front-groups operating as special interest 527 organizations. Here’s a short list of the BIGGEST leftist front groups - America Coming Together - Joint Victory Campaign 2004 - Media Fund - Service Employees International Union - American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees - MoveOn.org - New Democrat Network - Sierra Club - EMILY’s List - AFL-CIO - League of Conservation Voters. Who spends an obscene $1 Billion dollars to win a lousy $400,000 per year job, and why? The people behind Obama expect a return on their investment. And they are NOT the kind of folks you want to disappoint… These folks make Capone look like a choir boy. (canadafreepress.com)

U.S. Asleep at the Wheel ... I don't know exactly when it started, but America has gotten progressively dumber year by year. This country was founded on republican principles as a republic, not a democracy. Somewhere along the way we lost our bearings. Wake up, America! We have imposed term limits on the president, yet we allow senators and congressmen to serve as long as they can get re-elected. These offices were never intended to be a lifelong career. It was expected that elected representatives would return to their respective homes and jobs, not be on the public dole forever. We need to institute term limits on these offices, get rid of their health care plan, get rid of the one-term/lifetime-retirement plan. Force them back into the private sector to face the same problems we do. Congress will never do it, so we must to do it for them. (baxterbulletin.com)

Shame on Axelrod insiders: Getting rich off ObamaCare debate ... Critics of President Obama’s health-care overhaul are zeroing in on his senior adviser David Axelrod, whose former partners at a Chicago-based firm are the beneficiaries of huge ad buys—now at $24 million and counting—by White House allies in the reform fight. The unwelcome scrutiny, largely from Republicans, comes at an inopportune time as Obama seeks to shore up support for health care reform. It revolves around two separate $12 million ad campaigns advocating Obama’s health care plan that were produced and placed partly by AKPD Message and Media, a firm founded by Axelrod that employs his son and still owes Axelrod $2 million. A separate firm, GMMB, is also handling the campaigns. Both AKPD and GMMB did millions of dollars of work on Obama’s presidential campaign, continue to tout their connections to the campaign and still maintain close ties to his inner circle. Thin-skinned New Progs exposed ... Ask any politician in the free world, and they will tell you that intense public scrutiny and uncomfortable clashes with detractors are all in a day’s work for an elected official. The general expectation is for the recipients of such scrutiny to navigate the choppy waters of public discourse with dignity, graciousness, and aplomb. The Democrats’ handling of public criticism over proposed health care reform, however, reveals a sinister side of the Left that is about as intolerant, undemocratic, and illiberal as it gets. Recent actions suggest that they will stoop to any level and go to any length to delegitimize, demonize, and derail public speech that threatens their agenda. (newledger.com)

Unionist fights back for Barack the Red ... Communists, socialists and Marxists are sick of what they claim are recent "unfair media attacks, stereotyping and vicious slander" against their ideologies and have launched an online protest petition to news media officers entitled, "Communists are people, too." In a letter published in the People's Weekly World, the newspaper for the Communist Party USA, New York labor activist John Pietaro claims detractors of President Obama have been labeling some of his policies "communist" as a means to scare off supporters. "Red-baiting is back, as a means to stop the even moderately progressive agenda of Obama. They red-baited Obama during the election and are doing so again," wrote Pietaro. (wnd.com)

We don't need no stinkin' Constitution ... During the Bush administration, many within the dominant culture expressed concern about the constitutionality of detaining several hundred alleged enemy combatants in Guantanamo. Whenever legal restrictions on abortion are proposed, many express doubt about the constitutionality of interjecting government between patients and their doctors. But those voices have been mostly silent about the constitutionality of empowering the federal government with decisions over the life, death, and health of three hundred million Americans. In fact, the constitutional difficulties are profound. This is certainly so for those who believe the Constitution means what our Founders understood it to mean. But it is even true for those interested only in modern Supreme Court jurisprudence. Following are some of the ways in which current health care proposals potentially clash with our nation’s Basic Law: (tenthamendmentcenter.com)

Union goons demand "green pork" ... US labor unions and environmental groups on Tuesday announced plans for a nationwide campaign to boost support for legislation to promote "clean energy" and battle climate change. The 'Made In America' Jobs Tour will open Thursday in Ohio -- a critical political battleground in US presidential elections -- and visit 50 sites in 22 US states, including other major toss-ups, the coalition said in a statement. Leaders of the United Steelworkers, Service Employees International Union, Utility Workers Union of America were to join heads of major US environmental groups on a conference call Wednesday to formally launch the campaign. Race-based Organized Labor subsidy halts Stimulus cashflow ... Hundreds of home weatherization projects in Western Illinois and Northeast Missouri have been on hold while federal officials sort out how $5 billion in stimulus money is spent. At issue is how the federal prevailing wage rates, set out in the Davis-Bacon Act, will affect projects meant to make homes more energy efficient. Becky Pruden, executive director of the Two-Rivers Regional Council in Western Illinois, said months of confusion and contradictory rulings by federal agencies have kept the stimulus money from being spent. SEIU thugs: Tell it to the NAACP ... Kenneth Gladney, the African American man who says he was beaten up by members of the Service Employees International Union, wants the NAACP to investigate his case. Gladney has been held up as a symbol by some opponents of a health care overhaul as proof that the Obama Administration is using union members as thugs. Gladney said he was beaten while selling flags at a town hall meeting on health care in St. Louis County two weeks ago, a claim he repeated at a news conference Monday. "I was out there trying to just make a dollar," Gladney said. "And for something like this to happen to me is just tragic. I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone." The SEIU is challenging Gladney's account. (publicbroadcasting.net)

SEIU corruption: Don't leave home without it ... The Service Employees International Union found its match with ParnersFirst to offer customers a consumer-friendly credit card. When SEIU was searching for a partner to create a branded credit card for its two million members, union leaders wanted a different sort of credit card than what they found. Union leaders demanded a credit card with lower fees and penalties that would actually be fair to card holders. “We wanted a card that was more consumer-friendly,” Jeremy Smith, a deputy director at the SEIU, said. IBEW strike fail: Workers abandon pickets, seek pay ... Today marks the fourth week since Bemis workers went on strike, primarily over the issues of temporary workers and mandatory health testing. Union workers rejected the company’s latest contract on Friday and there hasn’t been any discussion since last Wednesday. There are no negotiations scheduled, but both sides have stated that they’re ready to meet. In the meantime, workers continue to picket, although some have moved on to other jobs. Shame on oppressive, union-busting ACORN bigs ... But here’s the weird thing: ACORN doesn’t believe in letting its own organizers unionize through the card check process; it uses its right to demand elections. But wait, there’s more: ACORN has been found to bust union drives of its own employees. One website of unhappy organizers says: * ACORN management runs the organization’s agenda and members are told what to do — We demand that ACORN become a true member-run organization! * ACORN activists fight for Living Wages but management refuses to pay a Living Wage and forces organizers to work 54-80 hours a week — We demand a 40-hour work week and a Living Wage! * ACORN organizers are fighting for 7 days of mandatory paid sick leave for the rest of workers — but ACORN management only gives us 5 days! * ACORN’s membership is a beautiful rainbow of diversity, but ACORN management discriminates against minority Organizers – We demand management treat Hispanic and African-American organizers with respect! * ACORN management pays organizers less than a Living Wage while it hid $1 million embezzlement — We demand that ACORN management stops getting rich while we starve! * ACORN management says it supports unions but busts union drives by ACORN organizers — We demand the right to organize! Rep. Doris Matsui placed on Dirty Money Watch ... WHO: Rep. Doris Matsui (D-Ca.) WHAT: Matsui received the following dirty money: PMA Group (PAC) $4,000 in 2008 election cycle; $3,000 in 2006 election cycle. WHY IT'S DIRTY: PMA Group (Paul Magliocchetti and Associates) was a defense lobbying group that is now the focus of multiple federal investigations concerning allegations of influence peddling and other corrupt activities, mostly associated with earmarks. Before it was disbanded earlier this year, PMA Group's employees and its political action committee gave current members of Congress $3.4 million between 1989 and 2008, with 79 percent of that going to Democrats, according to OpenSecrets.org. WILL MATSUI GIVE IT BACK: Matsui did not respond to The Examiner's request for comment. THE SCORE: Number of Democrats who have given it back: 0 • Number of Republicans who have given it back: 0 • Gave donation to charity: Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.), Rep. Nita Lowey (D-N.Y.) Long live Robert Novak, "The Prince of Darkness" ... Bob Novak wrote columns because it was the only vocation he ever had. Though he never would have called his work "public service" -- he laughed at the idea -- he undoubtedly served his country by exposing the machinations of power, and showing how government actually operated. Novak's reporting unearthed how politicians often answer to well-connected lobbyists and serve their own interests rather than the needs of the country. This was an education for me and for his readers. With his columns, Novak helped foster a salutary skepticism of government and reinforced the distrust of power that lies at the core of American liberty. (washingtonexaminer.com)

Chávez launches "No Apology Tour" ... In a ceremony to mark Venezuela’s Independence Day that was held in its embassy in Iran, Velasquez said that Chávez also plans to visit Russia, Libya and Syria. He went on to say that Venezuela is able to maintain its independence despite U.S. interference in the country’s internal affairs. The U.S. has always sought to seize the control of Venezuela through imperialistic methods, the ambassador noted. (tehrantimes.com)

P2P: Obama gives Trotskyite Lula $2 billion for ... off-shore drilling! ... During his campaign for president, Obama promised to create an energy policy that would decrease America’s dependence on Middle-East oil. Accompanied with loan commitments of $2 billion of the taxpayer’s hard-earned money, he took a giant leap for “energy-kind” toward keeping this vital promise. But alas, the news isn’t as it appears. While it is true that the CEO of Goverment Motors has committed to the development of off-shore energy sources, it’s not America’s shores we’re talking about. Instead, he is making this significant investment in Brazil’s state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil’s Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro. Obama War Fail ... Gunfire is being heard in the center of the Afghan capital Kabul on the eve of the country's presidential election. Interior Ministry spokesman Zemeri Bashary tells The Associated Press that three or four armed men have taken over a branch of the Pashtani Bank in the Jadi Maiwand area of Kabul and are battling police. He says there have been no casualties. Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid says 20 armed suicide attackers wearing explosive vests have entered the city and five of them are battling police. Security has been stepped up in Kabul ahead of Thursday's election to choose a new president and members of provincial councils. (washingtonexaminer.com)

Egypt on strike as Mubarak preoccupied with Obama ... Once again Egyptian streets are filled with protesters as civil servants, textile and postal workers join a strike wave. The tax collectors are not alone. Over the past few weeks the simmering anger of thousands of workers has turned once again into open confrontations with the state and the bosses. The postal workers’ dispute over pay and the imposition of new working conditions took step forward on 20 July with a large protest outside the national postal service headquarters in Cairo. Meanwhile, according to blogger and activist Hossam el-Hamalawy, the textile sector is “on fire” with strikes. Even experts employed by the ministry of justice have adopted the tactics of sit-ins and strikes. Earlier this month 1,500 of them rallied outside ministry buildings demanding job security.
