Rep. Darrell Issa, R-CA, is calling on Attorney General Eric Holder to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Rep. Joe Sestak's claim that he was offered a job in the Obama administration in return for his pulling out of the Pennsylvania Democratic senatorial primary race against Sen. Arlen Specter.
Issa, the Ranking Minority Member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said in a letter to Holder that his request followed two previous letters to the White House seeking clarification:
"I have written two letters asking some basic questions. To date, the White House has not responded. The White House's unwillingness to clearly and emphatically deny Rep. Sestak's allegations of criminal conduct leads me to conclude that his account is accurate, reliable and truthful.
